Prayer and Scripture
There are a number of opportunities for parishioners to meet, pray and learn more about our faith. Several groups come together on a regular basis including:
Adoration
The Adoration of the Holy Eucharist, or Eucharistic Adoration, is an opportunity for parishioners to pray to Jesus Christ before the Eucharist.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each week at the following times:
Where: St Francis
When: Fridays after 10:00 mass
Where: St Edwards
When: Fridays 10:00 – 16:00
Morning and Evening Prayer
We use the prayers from the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours) for these sessions where anyone is welcome to come along. No prior experience is necessary and we can guide you through the short service of hymns, psalms and scripture readings.
Morning and Evening prayer take place:
Where: The Lady Chapel, St Edward’s Church
Evening Prayer: Tuesday evenings at 18:00 before 18:30 mass
Morning Prayer: Wednesday mornings at 09:30 (except when there is a funeral)

Holy Hour
Where: St Edwards Church
When: Second Sunday of every month at 15:00
Where: St Francis Church

Rosary
Rosary comes from the Latin word for “rose garden,” an image used for the Blessed Virgin Mary in Latin hymns. Using the rosary, we pray traditional prayers while contemplating sacred Mysteries of our faith.
The Rosary is prayed together:

When: Fridays following the 12:00 mass
Where: St Francis Church
When: Saturdays 09:30 before mass
Where: Online
When: Monday to Friday at 13:30 on Zoom

Remembrance Services
These are short services of prayer, hymns and readings, held twice a year at St Edwards, in May and in November, to remember those who have died (recently or at any time in the past). More information about the next services can be found in the newsletter.
