UCM: Union of Catholic Mothers
The Union of Catholic Mothers, (UCM) are a National Organisation of Catholic Women, open to all women of all ages who support our aims and objectives in ‘prayer, love and active witness to marriage, family and Christian life in the world’.
Throughout our 100 year history the broader UCM have been involved in current affairs, particularly those that impact on family life, lobbying our MPs and MEPs to protect the marginalised and vulnerable in society both home and abroad. We are affiliated to other like minded organisations, are active in our parishes and support each other in love and prayer.
In our Parish we have two active groups, one at St Edwards & St Marks and one at St Francis of Assisi.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
At St Edwards, meetings take place on alternate Tuesdays and are advertised in the Parish Newsletter. The venue is in St Edward’s Parish Centre unless otherwise indicated. Meetings are serious, spiritual, light-hearted – often engaging a speaker. Our fundraising supports causes such as: HCPT. (Hosanna house Children’s Pilgrimage Trust), CAFOD and Macmillan.
At St Francis, meetings take place every fortnight at 19:30.
